National Expansion for Rapidly Growing ISYFA ISYFA is expanding nationally through local chapters as a result of increasing demographic demand. In addition to the Los Angeles local chapter, New York has formed a local chapter which will become an official chapter of ISYFA shortly. The ISYFA Board of Directors amended its Bylaws to allow for local chapters nationwide. As each of the new local chapters is formed, it will add to the ISYFA community and enhance its reputation both nationally as well as internationally. The ISYFA National Board of Directors and Officers are initially comprised of the founding Board and advisors. The National Board’s oversight of the local chapters will provide continued direction; develop continuing strategies for GROWTH; ensure COMPLIANCE; and provide for and enhance its national and local PROGRAMS.
Welcome ISYFA-National’s interim Officers and Board members: President & Executive Director - Carmelita O’Neil Chairman of the Board - Susan Legaspi Director/Treasurer - Marylou Garcia Director/Secretary - Tonette Santillan Director, Chapter Development - Benel Se-Liban Director - Casper Calisin |

In partnership with the Granada Hills Rotary Club and Bahay Kubo, ISYFA participated in a relief effort on October 10, 2009 in order to help our kababayans in the Philippines who have been affected by Typhoon Ondoy ("Ketsana"). Through the generous donations of the Los Angeles community and the dedication of our volunteers, we were able to fill 32 boxes of clothing, footwear, and food that will be distributed to the typhoon victims. Below is a collage of last Saturday's relief effort. Once again, thank you for all of your donations and for the volunteers' time to help those in need.

GILAS aims to provide internet access to all public secondary school students in the Philippines, thus giving them an opportunity to a brighter future. A donation of $15 will help connect one student to the internet. |
