Job Title: Controller Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for the coordination of all financial transactions and financial reporting for CHA and SAC. Incumbent gathers, processes, and summarizes financial information to provide support to the corporation s fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and goals of the company. The controller will work closely with the Health Plan Chief Executive Officer/Chief Financial Officer to ensure the financial resources of the Corporation are used effectively and efficiently and operations are conducted in accordance with Schaller Anderson and/or Health Plan goals, objectives, policies and procedures. Responsibilities: - 1. Assist in the establishment and maintenance of systems and controls that ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial systems, processes, reports and data.
2. Verify compliance with applicable Schaller Anderson business standards of practice (BSP). 3. Facilitate effective management activities through the integration of financial, operational and clinical operations. 4. Recruit, train, and manage assigned personnel. 5. Complete accurate and timely Health Plan and Schaller Anderson financial statements, reports and analysis, including variance analysis and corrective action plans when applicable, for review by Schaller Anderson and, following internal review, presentation to Health Plan Boards, Committees, representatives and/or regulatory agencies as required. 6. Complete accurate and timely Health Plan and Schaller Anderson financial budgets and forecasts for review by Schaller Anderson and, following internal review, presentation to Health Plan Boards, Committees, representatives and/or regulatory agencies, as applicable. 7. Coordinate external audits and reviews of Health Plan financial statements and/or processes. 8. Assist in the negotiation and renewal of Health Plan reimbursement rates and/or Schaller Anderson administrative service pricing with SAA Actuarial Services Department and/or Finance Department, as appropriate. 9. Monitor the reconciliation of Health Plan enrollment, issue monthly reports on variances between enrollment and enrollee capitation/premium receipts and coordinate corrective actions as appropriate. 10. Review monthly reserve estimates provided by the SAA Actuarial Services Department, validate applicable payment and utilization data, review appropriateness of reserve levels and develop corrective action plans as appropriate. 11. Monitor standard Health Plan provider reimbursement levels and validation of consistency with enrollee benefits. 12. Review periodic Health Plan provider payments, and complete follow-up analysis and/or interventions as appropriate. 13. Manage Health Plan cash management activities, including the annual review of the Investment and Asset Allocation Policies and quarterly reporting of performance.
Minimum Qualifications: - - EDUCATION: The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Master's degree.
